As a representative of our project partners from the little jungle village “Buen Jesus de Paz” Bethman Navarro Garcia attended the first field assistant course at the German Primate Center (DPZ) in Göttingen, Germany.

The training was held within the framework of the “European Primate Network Projects (EUPRIM-NET)“ between July 4th and July 13th. An international team of field assistants from Africa, Asia and South America participated on this ten days training in field methodology. As a leading member of the EUPRIM-NET, the DPZ agreed to cover the costs for transfer, accommodation and the course for Mr. Garcia. This lays an important cornerstone for our conservation activities and for the establishment of a research centre at our field site. Lastly our scientifically supported measurements should be assisted by qualified local workers. Mr. Garcia will now contribute his newly acquired skills in the training of local field assistants and therefore ensures knowledge transfer.
